Dwelling in Lederbach about 1905. The walls consist of Grauwacke quarrystone; the roof is partly thatched with straw. The stables are situated on the left while the ”Backes” is built in on the right. This is a dwelling like many at this time in the Eifel. Most people lived poorly and humble in the Eifel and no descendant ought to be ashamed of the poverty of his ancestors. The traffic development of our homeland had not started at this time and the bare Eifel soil produced no riches.
